Project Ferns - From rental home to
owner’s cosy abode
Home that feels like home’ the only brief given to us by the clients of ‘Project Ferns’ to make their home a cosy and warm space. The owners who also believe in and practice sustainability, wanted to upcycle existing curtains in to blinds to give it a modern and aesthetically pleasing look. This family lounge also got an update with a gallery wall that portrays family tree of 3 generations. A day bed to curl up and read, and some cosy lights to create warmth!
A fully revamped dining space that evokes a sense of calm for the home owners while keeping it toddler friendly and clutter free! Added a wall crockery cabinet to display and store the pieces while existing furnitures got a fresh cot of paint. Warm glow of the ambient and task lights also makes the dining space an ideal wfh spot. Simple, clean, and timeless – just how the home owners envisioned!
The living area got a new tv unit with compartments for tackling the toy storage problem. Customized handmade water hyacinth baskets are an excellent way to put away the toys and books.
When the home owners wanted to do a renovation for their home after renting it out for a while, all that they had in mind was to reshape the space in to something that suits their current lifestyle with a toddler. A simple, fully functional and practical, toddler friendly home. Everything aimed at simplifying their daily life and matching every design element and piece of furniture that talks to the kind of life they aim to lead. A basic kitchen upgraded to aesthetically pleasing, easy to clean and low maintenance, functional space with additional storage done without disrupting the backsplash and adding a much needed pop of color!
The revamped study turned in to a home office for the client. The room has a feature wall where the client’s company logo is the central focus, surrounded by a gallery wall. Since the rest of the space is neutral, the roman blinds are in tech-inspired warm yellow and the dated wardrobes are given a new life with grayish blue laminate finish shutters. These colors help to subtly energize the room.
Bedrooms got a cosy upgrade with new olive colored wardrobe, curtains and wall frames. The toddler friendly room has a floor bed and warm lighting to make a perfect setting to relax and unwind.
